Wilder Broomfield is developing a range of practical, community-led projects across the parish.  These focus on connecting spaces, supporting wildlife, and involving residents of all ages.

Churchyard Wilding - enhancing the churchyard as a nature-rich space through:

  • biodiversity improvements

  • habitat creation

  • seasonal activities and community involvement

Working with Local Children - encouraging the next generation to engage with nature:

  • designing a wildlife-friendly garden in the village hall field

  • creating "Broomfield Wildlife Spotters"

  • linking with Youth Wildlife programmes

Community Green Spaces - improving shared areas across the village:

  • wildflower meadow creation

  • orchard and tree planting

  • natural seating and small event spaces

Hedges and Verges - supporting wildlife corridors throughout the parish:

  • partnering with local landowners

  • surveying existing hedgerows

  • applying for grants to restore and enhance hedges

Resident's Gardens - helping individuals make a difference at home:

  • promoting wildlife-friendly gardening

  • running workshops and community challenges

  • celebrating local biodiversity efforts

Wilder Green Activities - supporting the environment more broadly through:

  • community litter picks

  • traffic calming to protect wildlife

  • habitat creation and tree planting initiatives
